Dimensions
Introduction
...we have chosen to use the word 'dimension' instead of the customary use of the term 'division'...these facets of the ministry have evolved through time and use...we knew that we needed a way to sustain the ministry through investment - that became Sea-Tac Ministries…we wanted to honor the foundational work of the ministry - the Chaplaincy at the Airpor...it is also important to prepare the future generations for Chaplaincy ministry and internship - thus, the need for the Institute for Chaplaincy...
Sea-Tac Ministries Foundation
...there has been a great deal of sacrifice over the past 28 years...we have seen many ministries fade away because there was not the 'popularity' or knowledge of the leader to carry through the difficult times...it has been our goal to establish a means whereby 'matching' funds could be generated for the ministry to have a fair opportunity to start...as this is established, a person could come to us with their dream, we'd determine if this complemented, and we would work together to see this dream come true...
The Airport Chaplaincy
...this is the original ministry for us, established here at Sea-Tac Airport...though the years, it continues to offer Sunday Services to all travelers and employees and through out the week, volunteers walk the terminal offering caring assistance to all they meet and greet...since September 11th, the process is more involved but the opportunities at most rewarding...there are now (in 2002: 15,000 employees and 75,000 travelers a day)...that's a lot of people a day to 'just be kind to'...
The Institute For Chaplaincy
...so often, we get the question, "How can I do this?"...or, we hear "Do you have any training I can take?"...the answer is yes...though not held in a formal classroom we have internships and training available...for example: 'Establishing A Chaplaincy' - 'Coping With Management' - 'Understanding The Financing' - 'Choosing The Personnel' - 'Dealing With Stress' - 'Dealing With Critical Incident Stress' - 'Understanding Disaster Preparedness' - 'How To Work With Incident Command' - 'The Nature of Power & Politics' - 'Constructive Pre-Marital Counseling' - 'Skills Needed To Be An Effective Counselor' - 'A Look At Our Society' - 'Christ's Public Ministry'...

More From Our Airport Chaplaincy
Hi! I'm Bob Guthrie - a recent addition to the ministry team here at the Airport. I started in June 2002. Most of my prior ministry was in 'hospital chaplaincy' work for about twelve years. I really feel I belong here, but most importantly, it seems my being here pleases God.
The focus of my work here is two fold: first, to introduce folks to Jesus Christ, and secondly, to strengthen that relationship for those who already know the Lord.
*I am awed by how quickly God has formed warm relationships with Airport employees...
*Several Christian Support and Encouragement Groups are starting. One has met twice and another begins next week.
*I am most grateful for the continuing financial support I've received.
